This is the summer of bodysurfing, not like last summer, the summer of bodyboarding. This summer we label waves - the rumbly tumblys, lean in, duck under, slapper...the water was 74, now 68. No sting rays or jellies yet. Mostly jj and I lately, boys out, eating ice cream at Belmont where we rode the coaster. Today we had big crumblers, sunny skies with tropical high clouds, and afterwards we each had a waffle cone which we decided was way too much. Summer Waves

Last night Trin and I walked outside to look for the large garden spiders that have appeared all over the yard. She calls them "paiders" and is so enamored with them that she took a small one to bed with her in a jar - clutching it tightly to her chest until she fell asleep.

The largest meteor I have ever seen fell over Tijuana, glowing green. Right afterwards the coyotes began to howl and yip next door - I could see a pair of eyes shining under the orange tree but the dark shape sped off when I shone my light over in its direction.
